STCA JANUARY 2017 NEWSLETTER

Happy New Year to all our ratepayers, members and prospective new members! We hope that you will have a fabulous 2017. We are hopeful that our membership will grow substantially this year and we are endeavouring to update everyone on the discussions on our EXCO meetings monthly to keep you informed in addition to a general newsletter every quarter.

Advanced notice of AGM

The STCA will be holding its AGM in the town hall in March 2017, date to be confirmed. We will provide an update after our EXCO meeting this month. We would like as many people as possible to attend this meeting. We are hoping to secure an exciting and stimulating speaker.

Illegal Dumping

The STCA has become aware that illegal dumping is becoming an increasing problem in Simon’s Town. Residents are requested to report all illegal dumping to wastewise.user@capetown.gov.za. All solid waste should be dropped off at the waste drop off facility in Blue Waters Close Simon’s Town. Please see the graphic below for the opening times. 

Recycling issues

The City of Cape Town’s recycling contractor has been somewhat delayed in collecting the recycling of late. This should be reported to the City of Cape Town using the email address wastewise.user@capetown.gov.za. Should you require recycling bags you can request them from the same address. 

Using water responsibly

Residents are requested to please check their water meters and those of their neighbours in order to ensure that their water meters are not leaking. If a leaking water meter is discovered it should be reported to the City of Cape Town using the email address watertoc@capetown.gov.za

Traffic Issues
All traffic problem should be reported to traffic.services@capetown.gov.za this includes reckless driving, taxi problems and any other traffic related matters.

Power issues
Any and all issues relating to electricity problems, queries and complaints can be sent to the email address power@capetown.gov.za

Roads and Storm Water
The city of Cape Town’s highly efficient Transport for Cape Town department is responsible for the maintenance of roads and related infrastructure as well as storm water. Report potholes and blocked drains etc. to transport.info@capetown.gov.za
