A very successful meeting was held at the Simon’s Town City Hall on the 19th October 2016. 70 people signed the register and there were some latecomers, so all in all there were about 80 people in attendance. 10 new members signed up. Become a member
The Committee would like to thank the following restaurants for their very kind donation of platters for this event. Pescados, The Sweetest Thing, Savuer, and Peter Evertse from Dutch Kitchen.
Our guest speaker from PRASA, Raymond Maseko, had his audience in the palm of his hand. Read the False Bay Echo article here.
Our other speakers for the night were the Furcraea Team, made up from members from SANBI and CoCT Invasives. They gave an excellent presentation of their plans to rid Simon’s Town of Furcraea foetida and other alien plants. Many of these plants occur on privately owned land, and the team require buy in from the landowners to complete this task. Look out for their press release shortly.
A very big thank you to all the attendees, without you we cannot make Simon’s Town a better place.
