Another pleasant hour was spent hacking out the Port Jackson aliens in our Valley.
Five members were present and continued to make steady progress southwards along the same area as on the previous four occasions.
A quick calculations tells me that with five members at a time, we clear between 900 and 1,200 plants per hour. The small ones are easily removed at a pace of up to 5 plants per minute while the larger ones are removed at a pace of 1.5 plants per minute.
With the five hacks done so far, we have thus rid our valley of some 5,000 Port Jackson bushes – easy to imagine what the Valley would have looked like in six months time. Well done and thank you everyone …
